WE ASK OUR HORSES TO BE ATHLETES...
we need to ask the same of ourselves.
Rider fitness is so important and yet so underrated! We ask our horses to carry themselves properly, working out their core and back. We ask our horses to jump large jumps, run fast, & ride the distance... but are you focusing on your own athletic abilities? Improving your overall fitness & stamina is essential for advancing yourself as a rider. Instead of being bummed that you have to workout, use your horse as your motivator! Let's be honest - we could all stand to be healthier & what motivates us more than our horses?

WORKING OUT CHANGED MY TIME IN THE SADDLE...
and my entire life.
I struggled with panic attacks, anxiety, and depression for many years before I began my fitness journey. Once I changed my mindset and firmly committed that I would be the girl who exercises daily, my whole life changed.
Lifting weights 6 days a week for the last 4 years has helped me in ways I never expected... one of them being how much it helped me with my time in the saddle. It helped me to realize just how much we're asking of our horses when we tell them to lift their backs and engage their core. Have you ever tried planking for an hour? That's basically what we're asking of our horses when we want them to trot around in a beautiful frame for an endless amount of time.
Realizing that my own fitness was so deeply connected to my ability to ride just made me more motivated to learn everything I could about working out & improving my strength, my cardiovascular health, & my mindset.
